SWIFTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET


The first realization of the truth behind the old saw, "The pen is mightier than the sword!" came to me when I read Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal and the essay has remained foremost as an example of ridicule being the most effective weapon against naked emperors to this day.
