WORD OF THE WINGS

Words, like eyeglasses, obscure everything they do not make clear.
Joseph Joubert (1754-1824)

This is a tough one. Getting specific about the big picture. Trying to describe that home leads to all roads. Attempting to express views from outside the invisible prison of cultural myth and civil obedience in terms still understandable to the unwitting inmate in us all. Ah, well, here goes nuthin’.

Besides our big ol’ fat dude of a modern brain weighing down and defying the direction of its trusty steed of a primitive brain being claimed as western man’s evidentiary reason to consider himself extraordinarily blessed and existentially superior amongst all of the universe’s beings, it is posited that our awesome skills in communication are the natural result of such monumental intelligence. Let’s look at that a bit.

The experimental examples of a sentence being verbally passed around a circle of bilingual people, each whispering to ears that understand the words, proves translating to be unsurprisingly inefficient communication. When they all speak the same language the effect of individual variations in personal life experience becomes the factor to blame for the more surprisingly inefficient communication among a circle of whispers. Such examples seem unnecessary when compared to a life long experience of noticing that I was participating in or listening to conversations where the paths of thinking expressed are in no way parallel, much less on the same subject, crossing only at the multiply definable, pivotal words going in different directions. The key to sustaining such non communication is the distracting impatience or deaf dogmatism of each listener to be the speaker so that the disconnect is never heard by any involved.

Such is the stuff of hilariously realistic dialogue in plays, books and movies — and life, if you happen to become sufficiently silent to hear it all about you to some degree or other.

Such is the stuff of political speeches intentionally spun to mislead the sheep with words of hope for greener pastures and to deafen them to the bleating in slaughterhouses over the hill using the duplicitous art of plausible deniability employed by any wolf in sheep herder’s clothing, by any politician in a suit. Someone once said that poets should study law if they really want to learn to manipulate words, or something to more clever effect.

Such is the stuff of the myth of human exceptionality created over time by whistlers in the dark promising protection from the unknown with the authority of their close personal friend, the author of of it all, who said to tell everyone, “The earth belongs to you so long as you dance to my whistler’s tune.” Being granted ownership, mankind lost respect for his symbiosis with the nature that had sustained him — the disconnect here was the severing of mankind’s inner dialogue with his intuitive, instinctual, genetic memory in order to keep up with increasing tempo , complexity and demands of the whistler, now accompanied by a full orchestra of corporate logos.

The difference between the politicians/priests and the poet/philosophers is that the latter uses metaphors to show and celebrate the subliminal, inherent nature of reality beneath her bountiful variations while the former uses a confusing variation of faith based promises to hide and silence the reality of their obvious, artificial exploitation of nature’s bounty.

This is all to say that misinterpretations of my last post, Bored of the Things, has prompted me to begin stating at the outset the meaning I intend prior to using specific words used in metaphors, concepts and contexts stretching Maya’s veil so abstractly thin that the reader feels free to launch off on a tangent of their own, never to find my original thoughts at all. So saying, from a dictionary I get:

Communicate: succeed in conveying one’s ideas to others intact.

Without a clear, intentional transmission and a willing, undistorted reception, communication cannot exist. In this regard, 20mpg internal combustion engines are a paragon of efficiency compared to the true communication that exists through literature, journalism, drama and pulpit speechifying. Jasper Fforde writes of a fantasy world where neanderthals are resurrected from their DNA and take part in society but rarely speak, preferring to rely on far more helplessly honest and understandable language of infinite bodily and facial expressions.

Nature — This is one of those trouble makers having two extremely contradictory meanings:
1 - the force regarded as causing and regulating the phenomena of the physical world collectively.
2 — the basic or inherent features of something, esp. when seen as characteristic of it.

When I use the word nature without an adjective I am thinking of the first definition, of the Tao, the way of all things, the theme of all variations, the essential commonality among all the second kinds of nature — the myriad different, individual, defining characteristics of all sorts, types, kinds, groups of things — any way you want to slice it. And everyone does — differently. Machines are believed to be possessed by gremlins for the same reason people would rather racially profile than consider the deeper reality beyond their superficial pigeon holes. I haven’t learned a clearer expression for my intended meaning in using the word, nature, but even if there remains a better way, some will still stray.

I suppose I could do video blogs of sticky subjects but, nah! The comments’ misunderstandings actually communicate more about the commentator than most agreements.

SWIFTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET

The first realization of the truth behind the old saw, "The pen is mightier than the sword!" came to me when I read Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal and the essay has remained foremost as an example of ridicule being the most effective weapon against naked emperors to this day. Jason Miller, over at Thomas Paine's Corner has flattered Swift's diatribe with the finest in updated imitation with his post, Immodest Proposal: Sink Your Teeth into This …

EPIPHANY: BORED OF THE THINGS

After Rex Preston

The boundless faith Frodo exhibits toward Gandalf in the opening scenes in Lord of the Rings filled me with a longing for such an infallible guide despite my experience of such dependent faith being a burden requiring special attention from the loved one and an atrophy of free thinking to the devotee in all cases between individuals, from teenage crushes to gurus and their disciples. Faith of individuals in the mythical deity of the culture within which they were born only atrophies original thinking to the degree of conflict between nature and the deity to be followed. In western civilization the conflict is unbelievable.

When I realized that the oneness of nature on both sides of my skin was an unstated epitome of such a desired connection having been the principle I eventually obeyed in all personal decisions throughout my life, I acknowledged a revelatory paradigm shift in my reality tunnel. My contribution to the mountain of conflicts civilized behavior has with nature dwindled to a comparative molehill of embedded values yet untested against my experience in this new light.

Consciousness of the universal flow of energy dawns when fear barriers dissolve and the gush of mutuality between nature within my skin and all of life without is that omnifaith too often fearfully, blindly, hopefully invested in individual entities and deities thought to be unique in the world. I trust myself to gain the capacity to find the nature of my actions and their natural results before acting through this connection. Ultimately the Golden Rule requires understanding how ones actions will be received at least as well as what one intends by acting. Conscious oneness with nature is the epitome of the Golden Rule and precludes abuse of any of its parts, being no longer primarily considered other, created things.

OUR LEADER?

Since supporting Dennis Kucinich’s bid for president, he’s been keeping me up with his activities by email. I am watching the C SPAN broadcast of his reading into the congressional record of thirty-five separate articles of impeachment demanding the George and Dick show’s removal from office. Presently, he’s up to article nineteen: Extraordinary Rendition.

I suppose, as all legal writs must be as verbose as required to obfuscate all detectable meaning, he is required to begin and end each verse of tne variety of violations of his constitutional oath (20 illegal acts, 9 lies, 5 failure of duty and one wasting of government funds) with the chorus overture:
“In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution "to take care that the laws be faithfully executed", has both personally and acting through his agents and subordinates, together with the Vice President, …”

Each followed by the coda,

“In all of these actions and decisions, President George W. Bush has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and Commander in Chief, and subversive of constitutional government, to the prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Wherefore, President George W. Bush, by such conduct, is guilty of an impeachable offense warranting removal from office.”

With a list of charges like this, all of which could have been leveled since before the 2006 mid-term elections, the upcoming election has been the excuse for not acting on them by the new democratic party leaders — elected to do just that. Does anyone need more proof that there is not really two parties? There’s just one shovel in a two shafted mine exploiting the mountain of sheep ore in vulnerable veins of gullibility. On September 11, 1998 congress announced 11 charges brought by Republican lackey, Ken Starr, against Bill Clinton for lying about a blow job in the oval office. By December 21, the house impeached him for activities that in no way endangered anyone, despite a 70% public outcry to drop the whole thing. Perhaps it is the endangerment of the congress critters, should all the Bush secrets be examined, that assures his escape from his part in the September 11, 2001 blow job done on three, steel, square office buildings and all the crimes committed in retaliation since.

LEAVING OUR CONSCIENCE TO OTHERS

The Georgia Guidestones

Sometimes the seeds for my posts appear on the horizon as I gaze at the dance of nature I mentioned in my last post. Sometimes it comes to me from a good informative and/or disturbing book or movie, a rantable outrage on Democracy Now or Countdown, or commenting on fellow bloggers’ posts, like this one inspired by Beansprouts when she posted a video by Penn and Teller pointing up the idiocy side of the green movement. I commented:

All cynicism aside, the green consciousness does seem to be shifting from the color of plant life to the color of money death as entrepreneurs see profit in the new green gadget market. As if the great global thingathon didn't pave the way to our situation in the first place! Throwing money at problems too icky for us to soil ourselves with, or care to understand well enough to notice that, although our conscience is salved, nothing's getting done, is the same kind of wiggling in quicksand that brought us to our original awareness. Changing our personal, individual relationship to the planet to become more symbiotic is the only change that matters. The starvation of the bloated, parasitic tick of corporate greed is a beneficial byproduct of our reverence for the nature of which we are a part — voting for and paying others to make us do the right thing is no longer an excuse.

Or this one inspired by Leslie posting on the US government’s ongoing practice of eugenics. An expansion on my comment then is:

I saw Alex Jones’ End Game a couple of weeks ago and have been sorely depressed ever since. Despite his Christianity uber alles phrasing, I got the message and the message isn’t good.

The entire field of conspiracy theory can be looked at like a yin yang symbol where the light portion are the blindly complicit profiteers, the fearful faithful trusting they’ll be eaten last by the hand that feeds them and the dark side are the blind haters of all things establishment who will blindly man any ranks protesting the man and all he can be suspected of. Between the faith on the light side and the hate on the dark runs the snake of reality being distorted by both side into a light spot in the dark side when such accurate evidence appears that it must be erased and dark dot in the light side when a cooperative defeats his fear and violates his disclosure agreement with evidence the dark side always claimed.

To go from our first edition of the Weekly Reader to the latest edition of Fox News finding no evidence to contradict the saintly image of the progress of the United States from rescuing this land from godless savages to the savior of the rest of the world takes more blind patriotism than believing dinosaur bones are God’s test of our faith, and for exactly the same reason. So I shouldn’t even consider such extreme cases, right? Wrong. These people are training and experimenting as interns (US Military) and professionals (Blackwater) in urban guerilla warfare as they demolish the entire infrastructure of Iraq. As weapons manufacturers pour out the means of remote killing to any and all, governments, rather than outlaw them, find reason to outfit local peace officers with superior arms, armor and techniques tested in combat and, for now, mostly used to shut down peaceful dissent against killing. Let’s not even mention the world’s highest prison population percentage with more being built as fast as houses. Keeping that shining image as polished as militant brass in case the sheep begin to awaken.

I was pretty familiar with most of what End Game was about: annual Bilderburger meetings, ancient bloodlines preserved by the illuminati, secret vetting of all presidential candidates, world domination, etc. The new picture laid out by this movie claims that part of the illuminati endgame is pushing the business end of the green movement and reducing the world population to 500,000,000 people, all under the now familiar “New World Order” through formation of continental unions all faithful to the central world government and herded into reservations forbidden to partake of the wilderness “for its own sake.” The European Union and rumored North American Union being negotiated to end the United States, Canada and Mexico under a new flag and currency, the Amero, are early evidence of this actually happening while South America begins to unionize its countries in defense against western culture but falling into the one world plan none the less.

The most personally depressing part of all this to me is that most of what seems planned looks like a good idea to me, but for the worst possible reasons and opposite end results. I have long advocated reduced population living mostly in dense pockets out of respect for the nature of the planet. But I also advocate the assumption of individual responsibility for ones own contribution to such beneficial changes, not by martial law. The dark lords want the land exclusive to themselves for exploitation while I just want it to be able heal itself in the relative absence of our burgeoning concrete and pollution. They’re sneaky bastards, those ancient, shadowy puppet masters of our world. I used to think the popularity of vampires was a reference to the ubiquitousness of drug pushers and addicts in the darkness of night, and it is. Only now the pusher pushes everything — stepped on as serves his needs and his addicts are evangelistic zombies out to infect or eliminate the heretics.

POT ∏ PONDERS

Observing the dance of the universal gestalt,
That exuberance exceeding the total of its parts,
Is impossible for the examining eye
Cherry picking pigeon hole fodder to appease
Ravenous theories back in the lab.

Until all are seen as living parts of it
The pulse of the universe seems to be white noise
Being sampled frequency by frequency in hopes
Of seeing an image of Marilyn Monroe
When sorted and added back together.

The beat of the universal heart
Seems as omnipresent and detectable
As a change in your size while all about you
Undergoes the same shift in scale
In simultaneous cycles.

SURVIVING? WHAT!?!

Survival. What a loaded word.

It comes from the latin supervivere, to live beyond. The load comes in when what one is living beyond is considered. It could be something as benign as an individual continuing to live beyond the passing of today or as ominous as life on earth being able to exist beyond planetary human parasites. Even something as positive as surviving ones own appreciation award party has the connotations of living through the dangers of celebratory excess. The point I am attempting to establish here is that survival always connotes the possibility of having died from whatever one has gone beyond. The only way humans could look at life on earth as a matter of survival is to think man is alien to this planet and must adapt its environment to his unique peculiarities for his rigid requirements to survive, much like our trying to colonize Mars.

Of course there is the myth that man is unique among life on earth because some convenient deity is said to have created it all for humans to do with as they please. A note from the big daddy of everything excuses us from any responsibility. Then the only things left for man to survive are civilizations’ perversions of the beneficence of nature’s bounty.

I get a sense from this word that, despite evolution being given lip service among the modern intelligencia, very few people really believe mankind evolved as a species on this planet as a result of the same process that brings out new models every nanosecond. The fact that we can reproduce and live off the land as naturally as any of the other myriad of living entities whose particular variety is perfectly suited to earth’s nature means that calling our continued existence “survival” can only be in a sense so benign as waking up tomorrow because our species’ first model “survived” the evolutionary process of throwing infinite variety up against the wall to see what sticks.

All stories of survival in the wilderness only describe the apathetic disconnect civilization has wreaked upon the progeny of ancestors who lived very well in symbiotic harmony with what modern man sees as a threat to civilized atrophy and good taste. I have a notion such survival stories have popularity because they harken back to a past more juicy, more romantically familiar on a genetic memory level. Plus, they contain information useful in rejoining such a state of nature as preferable to the culture in which the books are read.

The biggest threat to man’s survival is the myth by which civilizations practicing totalitarian agriculture are blindly guided. I’ve gotten about half way through reading Mystic Warriors of the Plains for some background to my appeal for a world wide Indigenous Allience as a voice of the overwhelming majority of humanity who consider themselves as Earthlings well before any national loyalty. The reason I mention this book is because its author, Thomas E. Mails, a Lutheran pastor and what I consider to be one of the better Christians, cannot help himself in describing the Great Spirit without throwing in God and Heaven. Each passage evokes a joy in the symbiotic life style with which this land’s first inhabitants followed the buffalo after reading between the lines of passages expressing Mails’ sense of grief over the godless, impending doom their fragile dependence must survive. It is like trying to find out what they were like before meeting white man, the horse and the gun. Did they always wear war paint, or was it inter-tribal practice begun in preparation for survival of the white man's myth?

I consider myself a partial survivor and still learning and healing sufferer of that brainwashing myth; an education and governance system designed to conquer nature on both sides of my skin.

Emanuel Leplin

Note to Ban Ki Moon: Increasing world food supply by 50% will increase the world population by 50% with 50% more people still starving!!!!! Maybe the Pope could help by distributing condoms and education instead of calling hunger and malnutrition unacceptable.

GOT IT ALL SORTED OUT?

Just the myriad of various interpretations of the term “human intelligence” should be enough to warn one that such thinking ability’s greatest nemesis lurks in every pigeon hole in every human mind. The fact that the sorting of nature’s variations into categories is a scientific tool of analysis leads the layman, and far too many scientists, to forget that it is a tool for theoretical thinking and never a basis for conclusions to be drawn or laws to be written about any individual entity regardless of the context of the moment. In its laziest thinking, most destructively stupid incarnation it is called prejudice, bigotry, racism, patriotism and sexism as:
PREJUDICE
a judge rules against people who do what he could never allow himself to do,

BIGOTRY
juntas forbid aid to their own citizens by ideologically opposed rescue workers,

RACISM
school children act out the hatred in their home life by hanging nooses from community trees,

PATRIOTISM
citizens follow insane leaders into disastrous genocide out a sense of blind duty

and
SEXISM
male dominated civilizations rape mother earth ignoring the love she has been gently giving since long before humans forgot how to gratefully receive her bounty.

In the name of human intelligence ignorant people claim human superiority over all they survey while labeling communications they cannot decipher or even detect as being either uttered by dumb animals or merely nonexistent. The repository for this self aggrandizing pride is the collator on the left side of the modern brain as signals from the right side are spewed into the hopper by the corpus callosum. Everything recognized has found its pigeon hole in the convoluted library of the civilized mind, everything else, the vast majority, becomes meaningless chaff blown away until such time as it becomes situationally undeniable. The right brain is the staging area for all sense of existence being received from the body’s cells. It is the gestalt that is greater than the sum of its parts as evidenced by the over pour of creative expression and original thinking emanating from individuals dwelling more in the right than most.

The latest manipulation of our tendency to clump chumps into lumps is being employed at its most insidious level in the more than year long campaign being indulged in the US, as politicians jump on a stump to pump out their most childish thinking since grammar school playground lying and name calling. All I can say about that is to check out who does the least of the worst, since politics seems never to exceed the quality of lesser of two evils.
